Pakistan Dismisses Indian Attack Claims, Warns of Visible Retaliation: DG ISPR

Islamabad (May 8, 2025):
Pakistan’s military leadership has categorically denied Indian media claims of alleged Pakistani attacks on 15 locations inside India, calling it a fabricated narrative by the Modi government for domestic political gain.

Addressing a joint press briefing alongside Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry declared that “when Pakistan responds, the Indian media won’t need to tell — the whole world will know.”

India's Attack Claims Called a 'White Lie'

The military spokesperson rejected Indian allegations of attacks on military installations inside India, emphasizing:

“India claims to have intercepted missiles and attacks at 15 locations, but has no evidence. Any missile leaves digital traces. If such attacks happened, evidence would exist.”

He further revealed that four missiles were fired from India’s Adampur base, one of which was shot down in Amritsar by India itself, while two crossed into Pakistani territory. One was intercepted and neutralized in Dinga, with forensic analysis underway.

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif added:

“India itself mistakenly shot down three of its own missiles in Amritsar last night. Their narrative is falling apart.”

‘Drama by the Modi Government’

The DG ISPR accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of creating fabricated war hysteria for political mileage during a sensitive time.

“India knows when Pakistan responds, it won’t be a secret. The world will witness it, and its echo will be heard globally,” he asserted.

Pakistan’s Retaliation and Preparedness

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that Indian drones had violated Pakistani airspace, attempting to target military facilities in Lahore, which were successfully defended.

He revealed that in the recent skirmish:

  • 5 Indian warplanes, including 3 Rafale jets, were shot down.

  • Over two dozen locations from Islamabad to Karachi were targeted by Indian drones and missiles.

He accused India of attempting to cover its losses through disinformation campaigns.

“India is trying to erase the humiliation of losing multiple aircraft and military assets. Its lies about attacks on 15 places are part of this cover-up.”

The Foreign Minister also condemned the Indian strike near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, endangering Pakistani and foreign players.

National Security Committee’s Stance

Ishaq Dar reiterated that Pakistan’s National Security Committee has authorized the armed forces to retaliate appropriately and that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty would be treated as a declaration of war.

He reassured citizens:

“Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared, alert, and capable of responding decisively to any misadventure.”

Current Situation

The press briefing comes amid rising military tensions following India’s aggression on May 6-7, with cross-border missile and drone strikes resulting in casualties on both sides.

Pakistan’s military remains on high alert, monitoring all activity along the eastern border, and has vowed to respond visibly and decisively if provoked again.
