Jury Selected as Trial Commences in Supreme Court
Fifty-year-old Erin Patterson, who has continuously denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty, appeared in the Supreme Court of Victoria this week. Jury selection has concluded, and jurors are now receiving instructions ahead of formal opening statements, expected on Wednesday.
Justice Christopher Beale reminded jurors to disregard dropped charges related to Patterson’s husband and focus solely on the remaining four counts.
“You must put them out of your mind,” Justice Beale instructed the jury. “Use your heads, not your hearts.”
