Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Intelligence Chief Martyred in Israeli Strike Amid Escalating Regional Conflict - Bio Points News
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Intelligence Chief Mohammad Kazemi and his deputy Hassan Mohaqiq were martyred in an Israeli missile strike on Tehran, sparking heightened tensions in the Middle East.
Tehran, June 13, 2025 — The intensifying Iran-Israel conflict took a major turn after a high-profile Israeli missile strike martyred Mohammad Kazemi, the Chief of Intelligence of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and his deputy General Hassan Mohaqiq. The Iranian military confirmed the attack and declared it a direct assault on the country’s sovereignty.
Also among the martyrs was General Mohsen Baqeri, further deepening the leadership loss for Iran’s elite military unit.
General Kazemi, who was appointed as the IRGC Intelligence Chief in 2022, played a central role in shaping Iran’s defense strategy and covert operations. His assassination, Iranian officials say, is a declaration of war by Israel.
In an official statement, the Revolutionary Guard vowed vengeance, warning:
“Supporters of the Israeli regime should know that targeted and effective operations will continue until Israel is eliminated.”
Civilian Toll Mounts
According to Iran’s Ministry of Health, 224 Iranians have been martyred in Israeli strikes so far, 90% of whom were civilians, including 14 nuclear scientists and 20 senior military commanders. The attacks have reportedly caused severe damage in central Tehran, including the destruction of a main water supply pipeline and parts of the Interior Ministry’s headquarters.
Israel claims to have hit 40 strategic locations, including the Ministry of Defense headquarters. Israeli officials stated they are targeting Iran’s weapons infrastructure, claiming Iran possesses missiles capable of inflicting catastrophic damage on Israel.
Burial Ceremony Cancelled
The Revolutionary Guards canceled the planned burial of the slain commanders, initially scheduled for Tuesday, citing security concerns and ongoing operational developments.

In a significant regional escalation, Yemeni Houthis confirmed they launched a second wave of missile attacks on Israel in solidarity with Palestine. Israeli authorities acknowledged the incoming missiles from Yemen, marking a growing front in the conflict.
This comes days after Israel targeted a port in Yemen, prompting the Houthis’ retaliatory strikes. Houthi leaders emphasized that their attacks are focused solely on Israeli military installations.
US Declines Israel’s Request for Joint Attacks on Iran
Amid fears of a broader Iranian retaliation, Israel reportedly requested the United States to participate in direct strikes against Iran. However, the US administration declined.
Despite the refusal, the US has reallocated missile defense systems from Ukraine to the Middle East, reinforcing Israel’s defense capabilities. US Secretary of Defense confirmed the move, stating:
“We are mobilizing all available resources to protect our allies in the region.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed concern, noting that the redirection of 20,000 missiles could affect Ukraine’s war efforts.
