Mariah Carey's Diva Demands Take Over Backstage at Capital’s Summertime Ball - Bio Points News

LONDON – June 16, 2025
Mariah Carey made her grand return to the U.K. stage after six years, headlining Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium — and she made sure everyone knew Mimi was back.

According to multiple sources and Capital Radio presenters, the pop icon transformed her backstage area into her personal sanctuary, renaming the dressing room "Mimi’s World" and removing all Capital FM branding.

Capital presenter Sian Welby shared the behind-the-scenes experience with The Sun, stating:

“We will do what we're told. When it comes to Mariah, she is the boss.”

“She's changed the whole dressing room to just be called Mimi's World. Doesn't even have Capital branding anymore. It's all her zone.”

Diva vs. Down-to-Earth: Will Smith's Surprise Appearance

In contrast, Will Smith, who also performed at the event, kept things surprisingly low-key.
Capital’s Chris Stark remarked:

“Will Smith is the most chilled — like he's just wandering around. He was in catering, sat down, got himself some food.”

Also spotted was singer Rita Ora, rounding out a star-studded lineup at the annual music event.

Not the First Time Mariah Made Headlines

This isn't the first time the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hitmaker has made waves with her glamorous demands. During her 2024 Christmas tour, insiders claimed Mariah insisted that all her male backup dancers be “hot” and even required full hair and makeup during rehearsals.

A production insider previously told the Daily Mail:

“Mariah is just being so extra this year. One of her requests was that her main backup dancers are all ‘hot’ men.”

“Everyone involved in the production has been asked not to speak to Mariah or take photos with her.”

A Show to Remember

Despite the diva energy backstage, Mariah delivered a show-stopping performance on stage, singing crowd favorites like:

• Always Be My Baby

• Touch My Body

• It’s Like That

• Type Dangerous

With a glamorous return, stunning vocals, and unmistakable star power, Mariah Carey proved once again why she remains one of music’s most iconic performers — diva behavior and all.
