Akshay Kumar Reveals Why His Help Spilled Water on Big B

Akshay Kumar has revealed the amusing reason his house help once spilled four glasses of water on Amitabh Bachchan, turning an ordinary visit to his former Lokhandwala home into a memorable Bollywood story. Akshay recalled the incident during his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, where he and Saif Ali Khan joined host Amitabh Bachchan while promoting their upcoming thriller Haiwaan. The story quickly became one of the lighter moments surrounding the reunion of the three major Bollywood figures.

According to reports, Bachchan had visited Akshay's home in Lokhandwala when one of the people working there was asked to bring him water. Akshay said the man was from Allahabad and was an ardent admirer of Bachchan, making the encounter overwhelming for him. Instead of calmly handing over a single glass, the house help became so nervous after seeing the superstar that he accidentally spilled all four glasses over Bachchan's kurta.

Akshay said the situation left him wondering what would happen next, particularly because Bachchan's height made finding a replacement outfit more difficult. He eventually gave Bachchan his own kurta to wear, turning an awkward household mishap into a story that the actors could laugh about years later. The anecdote also showed how Bachchan's screen presence could affect even people who were accustomed to seeing celebrities from close quarters.

Why did Akshay Kumar's house help spill water on Amitabh Bachchan?

Akshay Kumar's explanation was simple: the house help was completely starstruck. During Bachchan's visit to Akshay's Lokhandwala residence, the worker reportedly struggled to believe that he was actually serving water to one of Hindi cinema's biggest stars. Akshay recalled that there were four glasses ready, but the man's excitement and nervousness caused him to spill the water over Bachchan's kurta instead.

The story was particularly entertaining because it was told directly to Bachchan, who was sitting with Akshay and Saif Ali Khan on KBC 18. Multiple reports of the episode describe the moment as a humorous exchange rather than a serious incident, with Bachchan and the other people on the show laughing at Akshay's recollection. Akshay's decision to lend Bachchan his own kurta became the punchline, adding another personal detail to the story.

What was Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan doing on KBC 18?

The anecdote came during a promotional appearance for Haiwaan, the upcoming thriller directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The film is scheduled to reach cinemas worldwide on September 11, 2026, bringing the two actors back together on screen in a much darker setting than many of their earlier collaborations. Their KBC appearance therefore served as both a promotional stop and an opportunity to revisit their long history in Hindi cinema.

The episode offered more than celebrity conversations. Akshay and Saif also faced questions on the quiz show and successfully answered a ₹25 lakh question about Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines martial-arts movements with dance and acrobatics. Their appearance generated additional attention because Amitabh Bachchan was hosting while also sharing a long professional history with Akshay. The water-spill anecdote added an unusually personal and humorous layer to an otherwise promotional television appearance.

How does the KBC story connect to Akshay Kumar's Haiwaan role?

The timing of the story is significant because Haiwaan represents a very different screen image for Akshay Kumar. Priyadarshan has said he wanted to present the actor in a darker and more villainous role, rather than simply repeating the style audiences have seen from him in earlier films. The director also deliberately kept his cast away from his 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam so their performances would not become imitations of the original.

Saif Ali Khan plays the visually impaired central character in Haiwaan, while Akshay takes the antagonist role. The film is based on Priyadarshan's earlier Oppam but the filmmaker and members of the cast have emphasized that the new production was developed with significant changes rather than being a straightforward recreation. With its September 11 release approaching, the KBC appearance has consequently put renewed attention on both the film and the long-standing relationship between its stars.

Amitabh Bachchan also remains active on the big screen, with Section 84 scheduled for November 19, 2026, according to current release listings. He is also associated with Ramayana: Part 1, which is scheduled for November 6, 2026, with Bachchan serving as narrator. The KBC anecdote therefore arrives during a busy period for all three performers, but its appeal comes from something much simpler: a fan meeting his idol and becoming too nervous to hold a glass of water.
